About Equado
Ettiquite Inside the Dojang

Bow in, Bow out
When entering the dojang, stop at the entrance (where the tile ends and carpet begins), face the front, bow, and proceed inside.  When leaving, stop at the exit, turn and face the front, bow, and exit.

Arriving late
If you arrive after class has started, enter and take a place in line at the back of the class.  Do not interrupt class, and do not get into belt order line until a break.

Uniform

During class
If you need to fix your belt, uniform, etc. while class is in session, it is proper to turn around with your back to the instructor and fix your uniform.  Once fixed, turn around again toward the instructor.

A note about shirts...

In traditional Tae Kwon Do students wear t-shirts that match their belt color under their Dobok (uniform).  Many students have elected to follow this tradition.

Some colors can be challenging to find at local store. Here is one site students use which sells a wide variety of t-shirts at very affordable prices (and fast shipping to Gurnee).   Jones T-Shirts

If you choose to not wear a colored shirt, you should wear a white t-shirt. Shirts must always be tucked in.

During warmer months, if you wish to remove your dobok top during class, your shirt MUST be Equa Do t-shirt (available for purchase, order forms available at class)

Patches

The ITA patch should be worn on left chest, roughly in the area over your heart.  The Equa Do school patch may be word on the right side of your dobok. ITA patches are received when you become a member, and may be ordered through the school.

If you would like to add any specialy dicipline patches, such as Escrima, they may be worn on the left arm of your dobok. For any other patches, consult with Master Marcus.
